Public Record Requests

Public Records Requests

Upon receipt of a request for public records, the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) City of Los Angeles will determine whether or not such requested documents are in in the custody of LAWA. LAWA may refuse to disclose any records which are exempt from disclosure under the Public Records Act. (See e.g. Sections 6254 et seq.) The California Government Code Section 6253(c) requires LAWA to provide a response to requests within 10 days of receipt. The code also permits the ten-day period to be extended for an additional 14 days under specified circumstances, including the need to review a large number of documents and to retrieve documents that are in a separate location, under California Government Code 6253 (c) (1) and (2). Subsequently, any disclosable public records in the custody of LAWA will be made available. If LAWA requests payment for the records then they will be made available upon receipt of the payment. If the requesting party seeks only access to review the requested records arrangements shall be made for review during normal business hours.

The current cost for copies of documents is $1.00 for the first page, plus $0.10 per page thereafter (Black and White).

To process public records requests in a timely manner, Los Angeles World Airports asks that requests be submitted using this arrangement:
