The Gateways Volunteer Program allows participants to work in various Divisions at LAX, Van Nuys, and Ontario Airports as well as for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the Human Resources and Air Traffic Controller Offices. Volunteers are placed based on their career interest.
Volunteers are able to gain valuable work experience in a real work environment. They will be able to network with perspective employers, in LAWA, and of other companies. Volunteers are also eligible to apply for the paid internship program.
Volunteer participants must be at least 16 years of age, have a good work ethic and reliable transportation. They must work at least 10 hours a week, two days a week. Volunteers must be interviewed by LAWA staff prior to entering the volunteer program.
