Version 1.0
DDMS, CADD, GIS
7 February 2000
This site contains the official standards for drawing and document management
systems(DDMS), computer assisted drawing and design (CADD), and
geographical information systems (GIS) at Los Angeles World Airports
(LAWA). These standards apply to all data and drawings that will be shared
among the various LAWA bureaus for work performed by LAWA
staff,contractors, and tenants.
The purpose of this standards document is to establish
requirements and procedures for preparing DDMS, CADD, and GIS submittals
to LAWA. Submittals prepared according to these standardswill promote the
exchange of information between consultants during the design phase of a
project; allow for efficient dissemination of design modifications during
construction; and will help maintain an efficient information system for
master planning, facility management, andmaintenance.
The goal of these standards is to maintain quality data. All
users, including LAWA personnel, contractors, and tenants (airlines), are
responsible for performing quality assurance/qualitycontrol (QA/QC)
procedures to assure that they and their subcontractors adhere to
thesestandards. All data and drawings submitted to LAWA for approval,
either by contract or permit, shall conform to these standards. Drawings
and data that are not submitted in accordance with these standards will be
deemed incomplete. Contractual obligations will be met after all required
submittals have been reviewed and approved by LAWA.
Standards for programming or application development projects are not
addressed in this document.
