April 2007 – March 2010 Tom Bradley International Terminal Mexicana's passenger ticketing lobby is temporarily relocated to the Lower/Arrivals Level. Departing passengers will be served from 24 ticket counters on the Lower/Arrivals Level – double the amount previously allocated to the carrier. Mexicana will also have two new explosive detection machines in this location. Mexicana passenger security screening and flight departures will continue from the Upper/Departures Level.
June 2007 – March 2010 Tom Bradley International Terminal The Federal Inspection Area (Customs & Border Protection, Agriculture, and Public Health for arriving passengers) is undergoing a complex, phased demolition and installation plan for larger and faster baggage carousels and other technology improvements. Arriving passengers will notice construction-related noise and minor detours around construction barriers. There may be intermittent delays due to no more than two baggage carousels taken out of operation at any one time during construction.
September 2007 – September 2008 Terminal 1 Terminal 1 is undergoing a first-class refurbishment to take on a brighter more modern look. Passengers will see staggered, temporary closure of restrooms as those facilities undergo remodeling. Travelers may also notice construction-related noise and minor detours around construction barriers throughout the terminal.
