LAX PREPARES FOR BUSY THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY TRAVEL, OFFERS TIPS FOR SMOOTH AIRPORT EXPERIENCE

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) anticipates a busy Thanksgiving holiday travel period, which spans from Thursday, Nov. 21 to Monday, Dec. 2. The airport projects over 2.2 million passengers to transit through the airport during that time, with the busiest travel day expected to be on Sunday, Nov. 24.

LOS ANGELES — Employees and guests at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) can now catch a glimpse of the Automated People Mover (APM), as a new phase of testing will bring train cars through the Central Terminal Area (CTA). This is a key milestone for the APM testing team, with the first train vehicles crossing over Sepulveda and Century boulevards, and entering the CTA for the first time ever.

LAX UNVEILS NEW MURAL IN TERMINAL 4: EVERYDAY TRANSCENDENCE BY ALLISON KUNATH

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has introduced a new mural titled Everyday Transcendence by artist Allison Kunath, located in Terminal 4’s concourse. The 226-foot-wide artwork showcases bold sunburst patterns and over 60 colors transitioning from cool blues to warm hues, symbolizing movement and human connection. This installation, part of LAX’s Terminal 4 renovations, aims to enrich the passenger experience with a moment of reflection and gratitude. The mural is now on display for ticketed passengers.

This initiative will make LAWA among the first airport operators in California to transition to fluorine-free foam (F3) and positions it as a leader in environmental stewardship and firefighter safety.

"LAX PRESENTS" PERFORMANCE SERIES ANNOUNCES ARTIST LINEUP FOR SUMMER & FALL 2024 SEASON

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is proud to announce its Summer & Fall 2024 season of LAX Presents, a multi-cultural and experimental performance series for guests to enjoy at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In partnership with DUBLAB and Rum & Humble, performances are staged in Terminals 1 and 7. This season's program runs from July through December and premiered in Terminal 7 with Christopher Rountree and M.A. Tiesenga of Wild Up, a Los Angeles-based contemporary classical and pop music ensemble, and in Terminal 1 with Sameer Gupta.

LAX RECEIVES FINAL CARS FOR AUTOMATED PEOPLE MOVER TRAIN

The final 4 Automated People Mover (APM) train cars arrived at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), bringing the total number on site to 44. The first cars arrived in summer 2022 and the remaining cars have since been steadily making the cross-country journey from the manufacturer in Pittsburgh, PA. The new cars will join the rest of the fleet in testing on the APM’s elevated guideway, as the design-build team at LAX Integrated Express Solutions (LINXS) continues progress toward the project completion date of December 8, 2025.
