The proposed Van Nuys Airport Master Plan consists of a series of goals, objectives, policies and measures that will guide the long-term development and use of the airport as a general aviation center in Southern California and promote the compatibility of Van Nuys Airport with the surrounding community. The Plan includes a broad category of land uses that provide consistency with City General Plan and Zoning Code standards.
A five-volume draft EIR released in November 1996 provides a comprehensive evaluation of 12 different land use alternatives for the 730-acre general aviation airport.
