Debbie Bowers, Deputy Executive Director of Commercial Development
Debbie Bowers is Los Angeles World Airports Deputy Executive Director for Commercial Development for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). She assumed the position on April 7, 2008.
As Deputy Executive Director for Commercial Development, Bowers directs several revenue-generating divisions at LAWA’s four airports, including concessions, real estate, and landside business management. As part of these duties, she is responsible for commercial development; land acquisitions; lease and rental rate negotiations; terminal, cargo, maintenance, airfield and off-airport leases management; and landside business management including parking, taxicab dispatch, shuttle service, and FlyAway bus service. She also oversees the appraisal process, development and implementation of a concessions redevelopment plan.
Bowers came to LAWA with more than 20 years’ experience in the real estate industry, including her previous position as Interim Deputy Airport Director for the Aviation Department of Broward County, Florida. There she was responsible for the revenue-generating aspects of the airport, including land leases, terminal space negotiations, concession management and policy recommendations on revenue generating operations.
Her experience with Broward County also included positions as Assistant to the County Administrator, Deputy Port Director, and Director of Real Property. Bowers also has experience in corporate and investment real estate for a diverse set of private industry firms.
Bowers has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of South Alabama, a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Florida Atlantic University and a juris doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology.
