AIRPORT POLICE FACILITY CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES AS WORK BEGINS ON PASEO
Activity:
Construction continues on the Airport Police Facility headquarters building and parking structure, with work also scheduled to start on the 12-foot paseo along Weschester Parkway. The headquarters building is expected to be completed in summer 2021.

The future site of the LAX Airport Police Facility located at the northeast corner of Westchester Parkway and Loyola Boulevard.
Work Description:
Activities for the coming weeks at the headquarters building include the installation of metal panels in some areas to finish the exterior skin on the building. Inside the building, the work includes the installation of drop ceilings, interior doors and door hardware, interior glass that makes up conference rooms, flooring and sealed concrete floor finishes, and tile installation, sinks, counters and plumbing fixtures in the rest rooms. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler work continues. Work at the parking structure includes the installation of the exterior metal screening system, and build-out of interior spaces. Site work in progress includes rough grading at landscaped areas, construction of concrete retaining walls, and the installation of a permanent perimeter fence on the north and east sides. Construction of the main driveway entrance, reconstructing intersection ADA ramps, a new sidewalk on the south side of 94th Street and utility connections in Loyola Boulevard, Westchester Parkway, and 94th Street is anticipated to resume towards the middle of March. The construction trailers will be dismantled and removed from the site to allow for rough grading in the area where the Paseo will be constructed along Westchester Parkway. Construction of the Paseo should not encroach outside of the existing temporary construction fence.

- Noise will be monitored to be sure that work performed is within compliance
- The public is not allowed to enter the construction work zone
Traffic Impacts :
Trucks will occasionally interrupt traffic as they enter and exit the site; however, traffic control measures will be used to safely direct drivers to minimize traffic disruptions. Crews may also occasionally work in the street on Loyola Boulevard, Westchester Parkway and 94th Street. Please obey all posted parking restriction signs and construction signs.
