LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS SELECTS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

 

(LOS ANGELES – October 30, 2000) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has appointed Paul L. Green to the newly created position of Deputy Executive Director - Chief Operating Officer, effective November 13, 2000. Reporting directly to Executive Director Lydia Kennard, Green will be responsible for the administrative and operational functions of LAWA’s four facilities: Los Angeles International (LAX), Ontario International (ONT), Van Nuys (VNY), and Palmdale Regional (PMD).

Green will set and ensure the accuracy of key indicators and measurable performance goals at all four airports.

Kennard said "Mr. Green’s experience will be invaluable in helping us achieve our vision of creating an innovative transportation gateway that supports Southern California’s regional airport system and meets the increasing demand for air service linking the Southland to the world."

Green comes to LAWA with more than 30 years of operating and management experience, most recently with the Marine Division of the Washington State Department of Transportation where he has served as Director and CEO since March 1994. Prior to this post, Green was President/Owner of PLG Group, travel and management companies.

He also worked at United Airlines for 24 years with progressively responsible positions including Senior Vice-President of Inflight Services, and head of several divisions including United’s largest geographic division comprised of 59 cities including the Chicago and Denver hub operations with a $470 million annual budget, $1.5 billion in annual sales, and over 11,000 employees.

Green holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas.
