ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PICKS UP NEW DAILY NONSTOP SERVICE TO ST. LOUIS

Ontario, California --- (May 15, 2000) Trans World Airlines (TWA) will offer new daily nonstop service from Ontario International Airport (ONT) to St. Louis, Missouri starting June 1. TWA will now have a total of three flights per day at ONT.

TWA will operate a 140-seat MD-80 aircraft at ONT’s Terminal 2. The new daily nonstop flights are scheduled to depart from ONT at 11:55 p.m., arriving in St. Louis at 5:21 a.m. From St. Louis, flights will depart daily at 8:12 p.m., arriving at ONT at 9:54 p.m.

"We’re excited about TWA’s new service to St. Louis. The new and additional flights at ONT are steadily coming," said Jens Rivera, ONT’s airport manager. "In March, Southwest Airlines added a daily flight to Sacramento and began new daily service to Nashville. On May 1, Delta added a daily flight to Atlanta. On June 5th, Air Canada will begin service to Toronto."

Ten major airlines currently serve ONT including Alaska, Delta, Northwest, TWA, United and United Express in Terminal 2, and American, America West, Continental and Southwest in Terminal 4. In 1998, ONT served 6.4 million passengers. Last year, 6.5 million passengers flew through the medium-hub airport.

"Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the Los Angeles city department which owns and operates ONT, Los Angeles International, Van Nuys, and Palmdale Airports, has prepared ONT to play a significant role in the air transportation system as a major and domestic and international gateway to Southern California," said Rivera.

ONT is located approximately 35 miles east of Los Angeles in the City of Ontario. The airport is conveniently situated in Southern California’s Inland Empire region encompassing San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
