BIGGER, BETTER AND SOONER…Mark Your Calendar for Van Nuys Airport’s Aviation Expo 2000 in June
The Van Nuys Airport Aviation Expo, slated for June 24 and 25, will showcase the most impressive lineup of aerial performers ever in the show’s 37-year history.
An estimated 300,000 spectators are expected to attend the free weekend air show, scheduled about a month earlier than usual, to enjoy all-day flying demonstrations and displays of some of the world’s most celebrated military and vintage aircraft.
A flyover by the amazing B-2 Stealth Bomber, high-energy aerobatics routines, military and civilian skydiving displays, and precision helicopter demonstrations will highlight the weekend’s activities.
Aerobatic champions Sean D. Tucker and Patty Wagstaff will be among the show’s headline performers. New to this year’s program, Wagstaff is the first woman ever to win the U.S. Unlimited Aerobatic Championship.
The Expo’s theme,Then, Now and Beyond, will commemorate the evolution of flight into the 21st century. This year’s honorees are NASA Astronaut Marsha S. Ivins, a veteran of four space shuttle flights, and legendary pilot Robert "Bob" Hoover who has been described as "mastering more aircraft than any other pilot."
