SANTA CLAUS AND LAX HOLIDAY HELPERS ARE COMING TO TOWN

(Los Angeles, CA – December 21, 2001) With the help of Old Saint Nick and LAX Holiday Helpers, holiday traveling will become jollier and easier at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday, December 21 – expected to be one of the busiest travel days this holiday weekend. Santa Claus will meet with children at Terminals 1 and 7, and Holiday Helpers will be on hand at Departure Levels of Terminals 1, 4, 7 and Tom Bradley International.

Santa Claus will be available for photos with families and their children in Terminals 1 and 7 starting at 8 a.m. Holiday Helpers will provide passengers with information and guidance starting at 7 a.m. The helpers consist of Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA) staff, LAX Airport Guides, and Travelers Aid volunteers.

In addition to the LAX Holiday Helpers’ support, passengers also will enjoy holiday carols, courtesy of 70 students from Compton and Fairfax High Schools. The carolers will meander through the Upper Level curbside areas from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

"We hope that our Holiday Helpers program will make our passengers feel more at ease, so they can enjoy their holiday travel experience," said Lydia H. Kennard, LAWA executive director. "We thank the Travelers Aid Society of Los Angeles and the Compton and Fairfax High Schools for volunteering their time to share their holiday spirit with our passengers."
