Free Parking at Ontario International’s Lot A
Ontario, California (February 16, 2001) --- To encourage remote airport parking and to better serve its 6.7 million annual passengers, Ontario International Airport (ONT) is offering travelers one day free parking in Lot A for a limited time, according to Airport Manager Jens Rivera.
"If you park for five days in Lot A, you’ll be charged for only four," said Rivera. "If you park for 24 hours or less, your parking will be free."
The promotion for Lot A will begin February 19th and end April 19th, according to Selwyn Hollins, ONT’s Landside Operations Manager.
"The 4,600 spaces in Lots 2, 3, and 4 in front of ONT’s new terminals are filling to capacity during the week, and this results in the curb space in front of the terminals becoming congested," said Hollins. "We want to encourage travelers who will be gone for more than one day to park in Lot A and take the free shuttle right to the front of the main terminals."
ONT’s parking operations are currently undergoing a major reorganization which includes the renovation of Remote Lot F (at the Vineyard entrance) and the restructuring of airport parking rates to encourage more efficient use of the remote lots and short-term parking, according to Rivera.
In addition to the 4,600 spaces in front of the new terminals, ONT also has 4,000 spaces in Lot A (on Grove Avenue) and another 2,400 spots in Lot F (in front of the old terminal). Lot F is currently under construction, and will be opened before the end of the year.
"We have plenty of parking at ONT right now," said Rivera. "It’s just a matter of redistributing it to best serve our passengers."
