LAX OFFERS HELPFUL TIPS FOR TRAVELERS AT HOLIDAY TRAVEL MEDIA BRIEFING
WHAT: At the start of the busiest travel period since September 11th, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials will hold a news conference to offer tips to make holiday travels more secure, efficient and enjoyable. Officials will present the latest information on issues of interest to travelers including packing tips, check-in and security procedures, baggage requirements and airport transportation/parking.
WHY: Approximately 1.8 million travelers are expected at LAX between December 21 and January 2. During the heaviest travel period, December 21-23, airlines across the nation expect to operate at up to 95 percent capacity.
WHEN: Friday, December 21, 2001, 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: American Airlines Terminal 4 – Upper level, passenger security screening checkpoint
WHO: Paul Green, Los Angeles World Airports Chief Operating Officer, and other LAWA officials
PARKING: Television satellite vans and radio broadcast-equipped vehicles ONLY will be allowed to park terminal curbside on the Upper/Departure Level between Terminal 4 and on the south side of Tom Bradley International Terminal. All other media can park for free in metered parking spaces with media identification visible through the front windshield.
