ADDITIONAL PARKING STRUCTURE, METERED PARKING REOPEN AT LAX

(Los Angeles, California - December 18, 2001) Travelers this holiday season will find Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has reopened Parking Structure 6 and metered Parking Lots 3, 4, and 6 in the Central Terminal Area. Due to safety precautions following September 11, the metered parking in open-air lots across from the LAX passenger terminals were closed, as well as all spaces in Parking Structure 6. LAX Airport Police recently resolved those security issues, allowing all metered and hourly/daily-rate spaces at Parking Structure 6 to reopen, and the metered lots adjacent to Parking Structures 3 and 4 to reopen.

Parking Structure 6, with 989 hourly/daily-rate spaces, first opened July 2000. The three open-air, metered lots have 391 spaces.

Metered spaces in Parking Structures 1, 2A, and 7, along with Parking Structures 1, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 5, and 7 reopened October 20. LAX has a total of 1,120 metered and 7,988 hourly/daily rate spaces in the public parking facilities of the Central Terminal Area.
