JOHN DUNLOP TO LEAD LAWA HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION

(Los Angeles, CA -- June 21, 2001) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has named John H. Dunlop as Departmental Personnel Officer responsible for supervising its Human Resources Division.

"John Dunlop is a personnel veteran who has attained extensive experience through increasingly more responsible posts at the Community Development and Recreation and Parks Departments," said Lydia H. Kennard, LAWA executive director. "His knowledge of employee relations, equal employment opportunity and employee development will be invaluable to LAWA."

Dunlop has 15 years of city experience, with more than 12 years of those concentrated in personnel-related duties. Prior to joining LAWA, he served as Departmental Personnel Officer with the Community Development Department since 1999. From 1990 to 1999 his posts included senior management analyst and senior personnel analyst with the Recreation and Parks Department, and as a supervisor of the Los Angeles Police Department's Career Development Center.

LAWA is a self-supporting department of the City of Los Angeles, which owns and operates a world-class system of four airports: Los Angeles International, Ontario International, Palmdale Regional, and Van Nuys. LAWA's combined airports move 74 million passengers and 2.7 million tons of cargo annually; employs, directly and indirectly, 410,000 people; and generates $70 billion in economic impacts through an innovative transportation gateway that fuels the regional economy and links Los Angeles and Southern California to the world.
