Ontario International Airport New Parking Rates to Take Effect February 15, 2002
Ontario, California (February 1, 2002) - New parking rates at Ontario International Airport (ONT) will take effect on February 15, 2002.
"The new parking rates reflect ONT's objectives to eliminate traffic congestion in front of the terminals and to encourage overnight users to use our economy lot," said Airport Manager Jens Rivera. "The new rates also provide differentiated pricing that will better accommodate airport visitors who need to briefly drop off or pick up passengers in a convenient manner and at a reasonable charge."
Rates at Lots 2 and 4 will change from $10 to $12 per day, with a rate of $1 each 30 minutes until the $12 daily maximum is reached. Rates at Lot 3 will change from $7 to $9 daily, with a rate of $1 per 30 minutes until the $9 daily maximum is reached.
New hourly parking directly in front of Terminals 2 and 4, at a rate of $1 each 30 minutes for a maximum stay of two hours, will cost $4. A $24 overtime fee will be charged for use above the two-hour limit. This new rate and two-hour maximum will ensure that convenient parking is available in front of the terminals for airport visitors wishing to drop off or pick up passengers within a short time period.
To encourage use of ONT's economy lot, the parking rate at Lot F remains $6 maximum per day with the first three hours free of charge. Free shuttle service to and from the terminals is available in Lot F every 10 to 12 minutes.
"We have been informing the public of the new parking rates in advance by distributing flyers at all of the airport's parking lot exit booths, posting the new rates on the airport's www.lawa.org website, and using other public outreach methods that will get the word out effectively," said Rivera.
ONT is located 40 miles east of Los Angeles and is owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a department of the City of Los Angeles. LAWA also owns and operates Los Angeles International, Van Nuys and Palmdale Regional Airports. ONT currently handles 6.7 million passengers a year.
