LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS APPOINTS LYLE W. HAYNES MANAGER OF ASSET MANAGEMENT DIVISION

 

(Los Angeles, California – June 11, 2004) - Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has appointed Lyle W. Haynes as manager of its Asset Management Division.

He is responsible for creating and implementing asset development programs and strategies to maximize the value of LAWA-owned land and facilities, and for promoting increased economic development at LAWA's four airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), Ontario International (ONT), Van Nuys (VNY) and Palmdale Regional (PMD). He also is responsible for managing LAWA's property and tenant leaseholds at VNY and PMD.

"Lyle brings to Los Angeles World Airports a wealth of experience in areas critical to our economic development, planning and redevelopment," said Kim Day, LAWA interim executive director. "We look forward to his contributions for developing new opportunities for economic growth at LAWA."

Haynes has over 12 years experience in asset management and development, including extensive redevelopment agency financial management, project negotiations, and urban redevelopment.

Prior to joining LAWA, Haynes worked for the Community Development Department of the City of Chula Vista, Calif., where he served as principal community development specialist/project manager and then assistant community development director. As the assistant director, he oversaw a 22-member department responsible for Chula Vista's redevelopment and economic development programs, and assisted in developing financial strategies and policies for the redevelopment agency.

Haynes earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from California State University at Sonoma and a Master's degree in public administration from California State University at Long Beach.

He is an active member of the California Redevelopment Association, Urban Land Institute and the California Association for Local Economic Development.
