LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS APPOINTS CHRISTINE STROM MANAGER OF CONCESSIONS MANAGEMENT DIVISION

(Los Angeles, California – May 18, 2004) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has announced the appointment of Christine Strom as manager of its Concessions Management Division.

She is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and administration of all retail space, airport concession contracts and all licensing to conduct business at LAWA’s four airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), Ontario International (ONT), Van Nuys (VNY) and Palmdale Regional (PMD). As manager, she will direct the administrative and operational activities of the division. In LAWA's fiscal year 2003-04 budget, concession revenues account for approximately 35 percent of LAWA’s total revenue.

“Christine’s sales and marketing experience with multiple-specialty retail stores, food and beverage, and gift and news will prove to be a tremendous asset to LAWA,” said Kim Day, LAWA Interim Executive Director. “LAWA uses concession fees to generate revenue to help support its operations and personnel expenses, including security costs. ”

Strom has 21 years experience, primarily in the concession management and marketing fields. She has served as vice president of marketing at ITT Sheraton Corporation, responsible for directing and leading its marketing, brand development, retail and worldwide distribution.

Prior to joining LAWA, Strom managed concessions for Retail Concepts, which operates national multi-specialty retail stores in airports, cultural institutions and public attraction venues.

Strom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

She is an active member of the Airport Minority Advisory Council, American Marketing Association, Retail Advertising Marketing Association/National Retail Federation, the Society of Human Resource Management and philanthropic endeavors.
