HMSHOST OPENS BRIOCHE DOREÉ IN TERMINAL 4 AT LOS ANGELES AIRPORT
Popular European Bakery Café Makes U.S. Debut
(Los Angeles, California – October 25, 2005) European-style sandwiches, rich espresso, and freshly baked pastries-- is this the bill of fare from a Paris sidewalk café?
No, it’s a list of selections from Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) newest restaurant, Brioche Doreé, within the American Airlines terminal. The bakery café is located on the Upper/Departure Level of Terminal 4 beyond passenger screening. The restaurant is Brioche Doreé’s first in the United States.
HMSHost, one of the world’s leading providers of food, beverage, and retail concessions to the travel industry, announced the opening of Brioche Doreé—one of Europe’s leading bakery café concepts.
A long-time favorite in Europe, Brioche Doreé features artfully-crafted meals that satisfy the growing demand for premium quality food and highly efficient, speedy service. The restaurant’s menu features a broad variety of freshly made sandwiches, innovative garden salads, tasty soups, and gourmet coffee and espresso. All breads and pastries are baked in full view of customers, adding theater—and the aroma of fresh pastry—to the list of Brioche Doreé’s many appeals.
"Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) strives to provide a variety of food and beverage choices with international flare at our airports," said Karen Tozer, LAWA concessions manager. "Brioche Doreé has a unique European menu making it attractive to our passengers and we’re excited to be the first airport in the U.S. to have this concept."
Jean-Pierre Lombard, Brioche Doreé’s President, is very excited to see the concept open at the airport. "Los Angeles is one of the culinary capitals of the United States," he said. "I can’t think of a better place to make our American debut. The LAX organization truly appreciates the power of superior dining choices to transform the travel experience, and I’m extremely proud that we can be part of their exciting plans for this facility."
John J. McCarthy, HMSHost President and CEO, shares Mr. Lombard’s feelings. "We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with LAX’s team of dedicated professionals and a dynamic group from Brioche Doreé," he said. "Together, we are building a world-class concessions program for LAX travelers. Brioche Doreé and LAX are deeply committed to providing only the best experiences to their customers. HMSHost share their passion for excellence, and looks forward to a bright future for Brioche Doreé at the airport."
The Brioche Doreé menu features a variety of café favorites that are sure to be hits with passengers.
Sandwich selections include Le Parisien (Ham or Turkey with brie cheese and apples on a French baguette) and the Roasted Veggie Ciabatta (grilled eggplant layered with roasted red peppers, hummus, leaf lettuce, and a hint of onion). Salad choices include the Mediterranean (romaine lettuce with grape tomatoes, feta cheese, red onions, hard-boiled eggs and Kalamata olives); the Bistro Salad (mixed greens with spinach, bleu cheese, grape tomatoes, mandarin oranges, walnuts, and tangy vinaigrette dressing); and the Chicken Caesar with shredded parmesan cheese and crispy croutons.
The restaurant’s mouth-watering pastries are baked fresh throughout the day. Passengers can choose from a tantalizing variety of croissants, brioche, scones, muffins, and more.
"I know that the airport community will just love our products," Mr. Lombard said. "Los Angeles travelers are a sophisticated group who will appreciate Brioche Doreé’s high-quality offerings and warm, inviting atmosphere. HMSHost is an outstanding partner. They worked closely with our team, sharing their expertise and insights, to help us bring the Brioche Doreé experience to the U.S. for the first time."
