CONTRACT AWARDED FOR RESIDENTIAL SOUNDPROOFING NEAR VAN NUYS AIRPORT

(Los Angeles, California – May 2, 2005) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded AMD Construction Group, Inc., City of Orange, a contract for residential soundproofing in Van Nuys. The $704,000 contract will cover sound-insulation modifications on 30 single and multi-family residences located in the noise-impacted area around Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in the City of Los Angeles.

This contract award brings the total number of homes completed or in the process of soundproofing construction at VNY to approximately 563. The residences are outfitted with dual-pained window, solid-core doors, attic insulation and other necessary soundproofing improvements.

The Van Nuys noise mitigation program includes nearly 1,200 residences in the Van Nuys Airport area with a recorded Community Noise Equivalency Level (CNEL) of 65 decibels or higher.
