MEMORIAL PLAQUE DEDICATION FOR LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE OFFICER TOMMY EDWARD SCOTT APRIL 29

 

(Los Angeles, California – April 19, 2006) Los Angeles World Airports will dedicate a plaque April 29 in memory of Los Angeles Airport Police Officer Tommy Edward Scott at the location where he was killed last April.

Officer Scott was the first Los Angeles Airport Police Officer killed in the line of duty in the 59-year history of Los Angeles Airport Police. Officer Scott lost his life April 29, 2005 during an incident with a suspect on Lincoln Boulevard in an area adjacent to the airport perimeter.

The ceremony will include the Los Angeles Airport Police Honor Guard Detail and remarks by City of Los Angeles Councilman Bill Rosendahl, 11th District.

The plaque dedication ceremony, which marks the one year anniversary of Officer Scott’s death will be held at 10:00 a.m. Guests should arrive by 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will be on the south side of Lincoln Boulevard between LaTijera Boulevard and Sepulveda Boulevard adjacent to the airport’s northern perimeter fence.

Parking is available for media vehicles on the southbound side of Lincoln Boulevard (curbside) east of the plaque dedication location.
