FBI DIRECTOR RECOGNIZES LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE DETECTIVE FOR EFFORTS DURING INVESTIGATION OF TERRORIST CASE

 

(Los Angeles, California – February 28, 2006) A Los Angeles Airport Police Detective assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force, received a commendation from FBI Director Robert S. Mueller.

FBI Director Mueller praised Detective John Hernandez for his diligent efforts, dedication and contributions to an investigation of terrorist activities last year. Hernandez was presented a FBI Commendation Feb. 21 during a public meeting of the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners.

Brian A. Walker, acting Chief of Airport Police said, "Hernandez’s tenure with the Joint Terrorism Task Force ensures LAX is provided with the information needed to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public, employees and visitors to Los Angeles." Additionally, Chief Walker presented Hernandez a Certificate of Appreciation for his dedicated service to the Los Angeles Airport Police and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is a City of Los Angeles department that owns and operates four airports in Southern California: LAX, Ontario International, Palmdale and Van Nuys.
