TRAFFIC DELAYS ANNOUNCED FOR FILM PRODUCTION NEAR LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

(Los Angeles, California – September 20, 2007) Airline passengers and airport workers are advised that they should expect delays and allot extra time driving to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Saturday, Sept. 22, due to commercial film production on Interstate 105 (I-105 Century Freeway) near the airport.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has announced the closure of eastbound Century Freeway (I-105) on Saturday from 7 a.m. until midnight between Sepulveda Blvd. and Aviation Blvd. The eastbound I-105 on-ramps at California Street, Sepulveda Blvd. south of the Sepulveda Tunnel, Atwood and South Hughes Way will be closed during this period.

The Aviation Blvd. on-ramp to eastbound I-105 will remain open. Westbound I-105 and Imperial Highway in both directions also will remain open.

To accommodate the closure of the eastbound I-105 on-ramp at Sepulveda Blvd., both the upper and lower level roadway ramps exiting the LAX passenger terminal area to southbound Sepulveda Blvd. will be closed during this period. Motorists exiting the passenger terminal area will be directed to use eastbound Century Blvd. to southbound Aviation Blvd. to reach the eastbound I-105 on-ramp or to continue south to reach the South Bay coastal communities.

Los Angeles City traffic officers and signage will provide directions to motorists for detours.
