FIVE LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE RECRUITS GRADUATE FROM LAPD ACADEMY CLASS
(Los Angeles, California – August 22, 2007) Five new Los Angeles Airport Police recruits are joining the ranks of the Los Angeles Airport Police following their graduation from the Los Angeles Police Department Academy at Elysian Park on August 17.
The new officers are Percival Valdenor, Roxanna Mendez, Christopher Renard, Jackson Muchiri and Gerardo Torres representing academy class 207.
Los Angeles Airport Police Assistant Chief William Thompson attended the graduation exercises along with Assistant Chief Frank Fabrega and a host of other Airport Police personnel.
All the officers excelled in the academy as high achievers and Officer Renard was the proud recipient of the “Top Achievement” award in weapons proficiency with the highest qualifying score in his academy class.
The new officers were sworn in by Los Angeles Airport Police Assistant Chief William Thompson after the graduation ceremony.
The Los Angeles Airport Police Division is the fourth largest law enforcement agency in Los Angeles County, with more than 1,100 law enforcement, security and staff personnel. The Airport Police is a division of Los Angeles World Airports, the City department that owns and operates four airports in Southern California: Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International, LA/Palmdale Regional and Van Nuys (general aviation).
