LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE SWEARS IN NINETEEN NEW OFFICERS

 

(Los Angeles, California – March 2, 2007) Nineteen new recruits are joining the ranks of the Los Angeles Airport Police following their graduation from Rio Hondo Police Academy on February 22 in Whittier, Ca.

Los Angeles World Airports Deputy Executive Director of Law Enforcement and Protection Services, James T. Butts Jr. and Los Angeles Airport Police Acting Chief Brian A. Walker attended their graduation to perform the swearing-in ceremony. The new officers are Christian Alaniz, Steven Balandran, Casey Brummer, Jesse Farber, Jose Gonzalez, Erika Holliday, Ellen Kuo, James Lalicker, Marcio Matsumoto, Cynthia Novelo, Sumit Pandya, Murray Rabon, Dana Ramsey, Roberto Salamanca, Lance Schoenbaum, Jonray Selby, Aaron Chamblin, Jason Smith, David Sun.

The next step for the officers is to complete a six month Field Training program. During the training program new officers will be assigned to a Field Training Officer (FTO) before they are released and assigned to the Patrol Services Section.

Los Angeles Airport Police is the fourth largest law enforcement agency in Los Angeles County, with more than 900 law enforcement, security and staff personnel. Airport Police is a division of Los Angeles World Airports, the City department that owns and operates four airports in Southern California: Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International, LA/Palmdale Regional and Van Nuys (general aviation).
