- - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - - LAX ANNOUNCES LANE CLOSURE AT TERMINAL ONE FOR ROADWAY ENHANCEMENTS

(Los Angeles, California – December 31, 2008) Motorists entering Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) by Skyway and 96th Streets are asked to allow extra time due to an upcoming construction project.

The innermost southbound lane leading into the lower level of the Central Terminal Area from Skyway and 96th Street will be closing January 5, 2009 for roadway enhancements. Motorists entering LAX via Sepulveda or Lincoln Boulevards should allow for additional time to reach their terminal or enter the airport via westbound Century Boulevard.

In addition to the lane closure, pedestrians crossing from Park One will be rerouted, and the Terminal 1 Taxi Zone will be relocated 40 feet to the west.

Los Angeles World Airports Construction and Maintenance staff will begin the four to six week project in order to install new planters and replace the sidewalk on the northwest corner of Sky Way and World Way North on the east edge of Terminal 1.
