(Los Angeles, California – January 18, 2008)  The latest developments and status of the multi-billion-dollar capital improvement program at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) are now available in the latest issue of the electronic quarterly newsletter, LAXpectations—Better Travel Ahead, found at http://www.lawa.org/lax/laxexpect.cfm.

The web page’s current issue of LAXpectations newsletter highlights the completion of the first of three phases of the Tom Bradley International Terminal’s (TBIT) customs arrival hall and the opening of four new, state-of-the-art airline lounges in TBIT; construction progress on TBIT’s departure ticketing lobby; and the restoration of the exterior of the Theme Building (including the re-opening of the space-age themed Encounter Restaurant).

Regular features on this web page include fact sheets describing the various capital improvement construction projects, including the Tom Bradley International Terminal Modernization, Central Terminal Area Refurbishment Program, In-Line Baggage Screening Systems, and South Airfield Improvement Project.  The web page also provides alerts on construction impacts to passengers, airport employees and visitors to LAX.
