SPRING ISSUE OF “LAXPECTATIONS” E- NEWSLETTER AVAILABLE

            (Los Angeles, California – May 20, 2008)  The Spring issue of LAXpectations – Better Travel Ahead e-newsletter is now available online at http://www.lawa.org/lax/laxexpect.cfm.  The newsletter updates readers on new developments and the status of the multi-billion-dollar capital improvement program at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX).  The website also includes fact sheets that describe each of the major projects.

            The current issue highlights:

·         Completed renovation of the first of six ticketing counters in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) departures lobby;

·         Completion of Gate 123, a two-level boarding gate connected by escalators that will accommodate the next generation of large aircraft;

·         Completion of newly remodeled energy-efficient boarding Gates 119 and 122;

·         Announcement of a joint FAA-LAWA installation of Runway Safety Lights that will improve airfield safety by reducing the possibility of runway incursions;

·         “Green” updates to Terminal 1; and
