MICHAEL FELDMAN APPOINTED DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR FACILITIES MANAGEMENT AT LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS
(August 27, 2009 – Los Angeles, California) - Michael Feldman is the new Deputy Executive Director for Facilities Management at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).
In this position, Feldman is responsible for the activities of the Facilities Planning, Facilities Engineering, Environmental Services, Inspection Services, and Construction and Maintenance divisions.
LAWA is the Los AngelesCity department that owns and operates three airports in Southern California: Los Angeles International (LAX), LA/Ontario International (ONT) and Van Nuys (VNY).
Feldman began his career in the airport industry in June 1981, when he joined LAWA (then the Los Angeles Department of Airports) as an assistant city planner in the Environmental Management Bureau.
During that tenure he managed several key environmental programs, including the first Part 150 Noise Compatibility Program for LAX, environmental clean-ups throughout LAWA, and development projects that included the Imperial Cargo complex, and the second runway at ONT.
In 1991, he became Manager of Aviation Planning for the Aviation Division of the Port of Seattle. Before returning to LAWA, he was Deputy Managing Director of Aviation Facilities and Environmental Programs for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, having held that position since 1998.
Feldman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Planning from Humboldt (Calif.) State University’s School of Natural Resources and is working on an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.
He is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives and served two terms as president of the Airport Facilities Council of the International Facilities Management Association.
