JACQUELINE YAFT ASSUMES POSITION OF DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR OPERATIONS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AT LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS
(Los Angeles, California – August 13, 2009) Jacqueline Yaft has assumed the position of Deputy Executive Director for Operations and Emergency Management at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)
“Yaft was selected following an extensive competitive selection process from among a pool of highly qualified individuals nationwide,” LAWA Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey said when making the announcement.
As head of Operations and Emergency Management, Yaft is responsible for airside, terminal and landside operations at all LAWA airports, as well as the Emergency Management Division.
LAWA is the Los AngelesCity department that owns and operates threeSouthern California airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), LA/Ontario International (ONT) and Van Nuys (VNY).
Yaft comes to LAWA from the Denver International Airport (DIA) where she held the position of Assistant Deputy Manager of Aviation. She had been at DIA since 1999.
Prior to coming to Denver, she held positions with JFKInternationalAirport inNew York and with Kansas CityInternationalAirport in Missouri.
Yaft holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from the Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Embry-RiddleAeronauticalUniversity. She is actively pursuing the American Management Professional Accreditation Program offered by Airports Council International – North America.
She is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
