LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO CLOSE PARKING LOT 3
Ontario, California (December 9, 2009) – Effective January 11, 2010, LA/Ontario International Airport’s (ONT) Lot 3 will close to public parking.
Passengers and visitors who normally use Lot 3 are encouraged to park in Lot 5, located just east of Terminal 4. Lot 5 is priced lower than other on-airport lots at only $9 per day. Patrons who park in this lot can conveniently walk to Terminal 4 or ride the 24-hour courtesy shuttles to Terminals 2 and 4. The entrance to Lot 5 is located on Airport Drive and Rental Car Road. Lots 2 and 4 are also available at $18 per day and can be accessed via Airport Drive.
“Closing Lot 3, which holds 857 spaces and is only at 30% capacity throughout the year, will help the airport lower its operational costs,” said Jess Romo, ONT’s manager. “The closure is projected to save the airport about $650,000 a year in expenses to run the lot. In 2008, we closed Lot F, saving the airport close to $1 million a year.”
ONT is a medium-hub, full service airport located approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The airport is owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports, a Los Angeles City department which also owns and operates Los Angeles International and Van Nuys Airports.
