LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE ASSISTANT CHIEF ERROLL SOUTHERS ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials today released the following statement in response to the March 27th resignation ofLAWA Airport Police Assistant Chief - Office of Homeland Security and Intelligence Erroll G. Southers.
Los Angeles World Airports Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey said, "Los Angeles Airport Police Assistant Chief Erroll Southers was instrumental in bringing the academic resources of C.R.E.A.T.E (NationalCenter for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events) into a partnership with Los Angeles World Airports. Chief Southers’ intelligence expertise has contributed significantly to the security of LAX. His knowledge has been recognized and sought after both nationally and internationally. It is with particular gratitude that we wish him great success in his future endeavors."
Los Angeles Airport Police Chief George R. Centeno said, "Chief Southers contributed to t he development of an interdisciplinary counter-terrorism strategy and airport security design that have become a model for airport law enforcement across the United States. His effectiveness in communicating with the myriad of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies at LAWA’s three airports resulted in the successful implementation of these measures at Los Angeles International (LAX), LA/Ontario International (ONT), and Van Nuys (VNY) general aviation airports.
