LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY, PARTIAL CLOSURE OF CENTER WAY NEXT TO THEME BUILDING

(Los Angeles, California – February 26, 2010)  Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)will close Center Way South (the south roadway adjacent to the iconic LAX Theme Building) beginning Monday, March 1, 2010 through Wednesday Monday, March 3, 2010 beginning at 6:00 a.m. 

            The closure will allow a crane to lift and install steel beams within the spire of the ThemeBuilding as part of that building’s seismic retrofit.  Center Way South (the south roadway adjacent to the ThemeBuilding) will be closed while Center Way Northwill remain open for motorists heading out of the airport.  The Encounter Restaurant will be closed Monday through Friday while this phase of construction takes place.  The ground level cafeteriaCity Deli will remain open and accessible from the north entrance.
