LAWA RECEIVES TEN RESPONSES TO EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR MANAGEMENT OF LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials announced today they received 10 inquiries to a recent solicitation for Expressions of Interest for the possible management of LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT). The responses represent both domestic and international firms, indicating a strong interest in the future of the airport.
“This encouraging response is an indication that ONT is a key asset for the City of Los Angeles,” said LAWA Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey. “Despite being affected by the economic slowdown, ONT remains an important airport in our system and the sheer number of inquiries demonstrates that others feel the same way.”
Solicitation of an Expression of Interest (EOI) for ONT was released by LAWA on Jan. 4, 2011, for the specific purpose of evaluating the feasibility of and options for contracting management and operation of ONT through a long term agreement. The purpose of an EOI is to inform LAWA in any future selection process, should the department choose to seek a long-term manager/operator for ONT.
