ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR PASSENGERS DURING I-405 FREEWAY CLOSURE POSTED ON LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WEBSITE

            (Los Angeles, California – June 22, 2011)  Information and advice to passengers arriving at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) during the July 16-17 complete closure of the I-405 San Diego Freeway are now available on the airport’s Internet webpage More tips to help departing passengers catch their flights on time also have been added, as well as general information on LAX’s operational preparations for the freeway closure.

            The webpage, which launched last week, contains information about the I-405 closure, expected impacts on departing and arriving passengers, general travel advice, and links to shared-ride ground transportation options passengers might consider instead of driving or riding in a personal vehicle.  In particular, information about the LAX FlyAway nonstop bus service operated by Los Angeles World Airports (the City department that owns and operates LAX, Van Nuys Airport and LA/Ontario International Airport is provided. 

            Also included on the LAX I-405 webpage are links to other websites where maps of the closure, recommended diversion routes, public transit schedules and fares, etc. are posted by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the two public agencies responsible for I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project that requires the upcoming 53-hour closure of the I-405 in mid-July.
