AIR FRANCE INAUGURATES AIRBUS A380 SERVICE BETWEEN LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND PARIS-CHARLES DE GAULLE AIRPORT

 

(Los Angeles, California – May 30, 2012) Air France inaugurates daily Airbus A380 nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), bringing the number of airlines operating A380s at LAX to four.  

            “We congratulate Air France on the launch of its daily Airbus A380 service at LAX.  This is the type of quality air service we want to attract to LAX as we continue our $4.1-billion LAneXt™ modernization program,” said Gina Marie Lindsey, Los Angeles World Airports executive director.  “The new Tom Bradley International Terminal will more than double in size to 2.2 million square feet (nearly 204,400 square meters).  Next Spring 2013, Air France passengers will experience a whole new level of convenience and service when we open several of the 18 new gates and 150,000 square feet (nearly 14,000 square meters) of premium retail, dining and other amenities for travelers.”

            The A380 service, operating daily in partnership with Delta, will depart from LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal at 4 p.m. and arrive at CDG the next day at 11:35 a.m. local time.  The return flight will depart from CDG at 10:30 a.m., arriving at LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal at 1:10 p.m. local time.  The flight schedules enable passengers to benefit from convenient connections at CDG to the rest of the world.  Air France also offers a 2nd daily Boeing 777 flight operating from Terminal 2.   

            On its A380 service, Air France is offering customers new exclusive services and even more comfort with a redesigned First Class cabin, a new “full sleep” seat in Business Class, a new entertainment guide with more films and Premium Economy and Economy cabins offering passengers space, quiet and well-being.
