-- COMMUNITY ADVISORY -- LAX TO CONDUCT STORMWATER FLOW MAINTENANCE ON DITCH LOCATED ALONG NORTHERN AIRPORT PERIMETER

(Los Angeles, California – May 7, 2013)  Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials announced today the beginning of routine maintenance on the Argo Ditch located along the northern perimeter of the airport, adjacent to Westchester Parkway.  The work is being conducted for regulatory compliance related to storm water flow.  Maintenance crews will use an excavator to help extract debris and over-grown vegetation that can block the flow of water.

This work is usually conducted mid-year in order to prepare the ditch for the next rainy season.  Work will continue for up to four weeks, weather permitting.  LAX fosters stewardship of the surrounding environment by complying with applicable requirements and integrating sustainable practices into its operations.
