CURRENT AIRPORT CONDITIONS -- TRAFFIC RETURNED TO NORMAL

1. Airlines reporting normal operations – no delays or cancellations.
2. Demonstrators have boarded buses and left the airport.
3. Center Way has reopened and traffic within the Central Terminal Area has returned to normal.
Update #1 at 12:45 p.m.

2. Center Way, which runs eastbound one-way, between East Way and the LAWA Administration Building is temporarily closed.
3. Traffic within the Central Terminal Area is heavy. .
4. Airport officials report the protestors are converging at the LAWA Administration Building at One World Way, where they are expected to conduct civil disobedience.
4. Passengers and motorists are advised to plan accordingly.
Initial Statement at 11:30 a.m.
A scheduled labor demonstration by a local union that began a few minutes ago at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is expected to affect traffic in the Central Terminal Area. Los Angeles Airport Police and LAPD are monitoring the demonstration. Airport Police will manage any traffic impacts on the Arrivals and Departures levels. Passengers, visitors, and airport-wide employees coming to the airport are advised to monitor real-time traffic conditions at www.lawa.org/laxtrafficmaps.aspxand plan accordingly. LAX Airport Operations reports flight operations are normal.
We will monitor any civil disobedience and coordinate any arrest(s) that may occur.
