HOURS REVISED FOR SCHEDULED WEEKEND CLOSURE OF METRO RAIL GREEN LINE LAX/AVIATION STATION ON OCTOBER 23-25, 2015

(Los Angeles, California – October 22, 2015)  Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials advise travelers that the Metro Rail Green Line LAX/Aviation Station will be temporarily closed this Friday night through Sunday, October 23-25. This closure now begins at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 23, through Sunday, October 25, at the end of that day’s service.

According to Metro, the closure is necessary to allow installation of safety barriers for part of its Crenshaw/LAX light-rail line construction.

During that time, there will be no disruption to LAX Shuttle Bus “G” service between the LAX terminals and the LAX/Aviation Station.  In order to reach the LAX/Aviation Station, Metro Rail Green Line riders can use Metro-provided shuttle buses from either the Mariposa or the Hawthorne/Lennox stations, which are located one stop directly west and east, respectively, of the LAX/Aviation Station.

Customers traveling between Mariposa, LAX/Aviation and Hawthorne/Lennox will need to board supplementary Metro Bus shuttles in order to do so.  A total of 10 buses, scheduled to arrive approximately every 10 minutes, will shuttle customers between the three affected stations.  Metro personnel will be on hand to assist throughout the weekend.

Motorists may follow Los Angeles Airport Police's Twitter @LAAirportPD for up-to-date information on traffic conditions in and around LAX.
