LAX LAUNCHES NEW JOBS@LAX WEBSITE WITH 150-PLUS AIRPORT JOB OPENINGS

 

                (Los Angeles, California – October 15, 2015)   Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) launched a new Jobs@LAX website this week to offer job seekers easier access to employment opportunities with companies doing business at the airport. The public can view the website at www.jobsatlax.org.

              The new website went “live” with more than 100 LAX contractors offering more than 150 open positions in diverse fields, including engineering, customer service, aircraft maintenance, retail, and food service.

          The newweb site, provided by the LAX Community Relations First Source Hiring Program (FSHP), is an upgrade to its former Applicant Tracking System-based website.  This next-generation website offers job seekers such enhanced features as user-friendly technology, faster registration, enhanced job search, job alert capabilities, and real-time posts of new job opportunities.  The Jobs@LAX  site is able to provide more LAX job opportunities  than others because its staff works directly with companies at LAX and can automatically posts their openings. 

          “This is more than a web site redesign,” said Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Executive Director Deborah Flint.  “This innovative technology is part of LAWA’s broader initiative of continuing to be a leader in job creation for the region.  Jobs@LAX is an exciting one-stop source for the most LAX employment opportunities.”

          Job seekers can view job descriptions and apply online for all positions offered. The website also provides information on employee security badging, employee airport parking, and other employment assistance resources.

The LAX Community Relations Division develops and implements ongoing community outreach programs designed to optimize effective two-way communications with various publics.  A key focus of the division is establishing programs and services that address the needs and concerns of surrounding airport communities through opportunities such as youth programs, aviation education, volunteerism, and community and civic participation.  In addition, the division handles liaison activities with community-based organizations and oversees public agency-private industry partnerships.  Using a positive, proactive approach to providing meaningful public involvement opportunities, the division’s work reflects Los Angeles World Airports’ (LAWA’s) commitment to balancing the need for regional economic growth with the needs of residential communities.
