LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AUGUST PASSENGER VOLUME UP 2.26%

(Ontario, California – September 29, 2015) Passenger traffic at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) was up 2.26% in August. ONT airlines served 368,631 travelers compared to 360,481 travelers in August 2014.

“Our summer traffic numbers have been positive and we will continue to support the region’s travel needs as we head toward final quarter of 2015,” said Jess Romo, Airport Manager.  "Our International numbers in particular are remaining strong through the first eight months of the year."

International traffic is maintaining a vigorous percentage growth, reflecting demand for the Mexican markets. AeroMexico and Volaris served 17,549 passengers, a 101.00% increase over August 2014. Their scheduled service is expected to remain strong through the year.

ONT is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. It is a medium-hub, full-service airport with direct commercial jet service to 15 major U.S. cities and connecting service to many domestic and international destinations.
