TRAFFIC ADVISORY NEAR LAX: WEEKEND STREET RE-SURFACING NEAR LAX TO IMPACT TRAFFIC

(Los Angeles, California – May 15, 2015)  Officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are advising motorists that street re-surfacing activity near the airport this weekend is expected to impact traffic.

On Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services will apply slurry seal to Westchester Parkway between Pershing Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard.  Work will begin at 6 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. each day.

Additional closures will include:  Stanmoor Drive from La Tijera Boulevard to Westchester Parkway; Loyola Boulevard from La Tijera Boulevard to Westchester Parkway; the right-hand lane approach from northbound Pershing Drive to Westchester Parkway; and the left-turn lane of southbound Pershing Drive at Westchester Parkway.

During the street closures, all airport construction vehicles are prohibited from using Falmouth Avenue to access the on-airport construction lot at the northwest corner of LAX.  All construction vehicles needing access to the aircraft operating area must use Post 21.
