SANTA AND LAX CREW DELIVER HOLIDAY CHEER TO AIRPORT GUESTS

(Los Angeles, California – December 5, 2016) ‘Tis the season at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as Santa and his crew enhance the guest experience during one of the airport’s busiest seasons of the year!  Dancers, carolers, musical artists – including the TSA Choir – and even a little TLC (Teams of LAXceptional Courtesy) are coming to town to help entertain the millions of guests expected at LAX during the holiday season.

“We know that traveling during the holidays can be stressful and we are trying to relieve some of that anxiety by creating a more festive holiday atmosphere through entertainment, activities and even a little help from Santa himself,” said Los Angeles World Airports CEO Deborah Flint. “Our hope is to delight our guests with unexpected, exceptional extras that help put the fun back into travel.”

From Dec. 5 – 25, a number of activities are planned as part of an effort to create a more calming and fun environment for airport guests. Activities include musical performances, as well as children’s arts and crafts in “Holiday Hangars” and visits by Santa and the airport’s team of therapy dogs, LAX PUPs (Pets Unstressing Passengers) dressed up in their holiday best.

On Dec. 22, TLC in black vests will be on the curbside and in terminals at TLC courtesy tables to assist and inform guests, in addition to providing a little “TLC”.  In addition, complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and goodies will be available to users of the LAX Cell Phone Waiting Lot on the northeast corner of Sepulveda and 96th Street to help alleviate congestion in the Central Terminal Area. Meeters and greeters can “reLAX” while waiting to pick up their loved ones.  In the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT)’s Great Hall, adjacent to Gate 148, guests can post messages on a Holiday Wish Wall, a project in collaboration with four local elementary schools.

Even those traveling on Dec. 25 will find Christmas joy as the Airport Police team delivers teddy bears to children who anxiously await their holiday flights.

All of these activities are part of LAX’s overall efforts to increase guest satisfaction not only through infrastructure and facilities, but with innovative services, amenities and experiences that are efficient, memorable and hospitable.
