SUCCESS! PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE REMOVED FROM LAX CENTRAL TERMINAL AREA
(Los Angeles, CA) Following two nights of painstakingly precise work, construction crews have successfully removed the pedestrian bridge between Terminal 6 and Parking Structure 6 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), marking a major milestone in the construction of an Automated People Mover, slated to open in 2023. The work was completed in a way that minimized the impact on airport guests, with complete closures of the roadway taking place after 2 a.m., during the time period with the fewest vehicles.

LAWA and Edge4Vets Connect Veterans with Hiring Managers to Leverage Military Experience in Civilian Job Market
(Los Angeles, CA) Today, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Edge4Vets continued their partnership to connect military servicemen and women with jobs at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Going beyond the expectations of a conventional job fair, Edge4Vets brings veterans and hiring professionals together for a substantive discussion that highlights how veterans can discuss their military service with companies that are looking for skilled and motivated applicants. Seminar attendees connected with 20 representatives from 12 airport employers. In total, 26 people participated in today's program by attending the in-person training session or completing coursework online.

(Los Angeles, CA) Today, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) demonstrated a cutting-edge, app-based technology that allows blind and low vision guests to navigate Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with the help of a live, internet-connected remote assistant. All that is needed to access the free service, which is now available at LAX, is a smartphone with a camera.

The program, which is free to U.S. job-seeking veterans, provides a unique opportunity for veterans to learn how to discuss their military service skills in ways that resonate with hiring professionals, and includes a seminar where veterans meet for face-to-face discussions with hiring managers and HR professionals. The seminar will be held on May 15 at the Hyatt Regency LAX.
