LAX DECLARES INDEPENDENCE FROM TRAVEL STRESS: Tips for a smooth July Fourth journey

(Los Angeles) Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) anticipates a busy Fourth of July holiday, with increased passenger and vehicle traffic expected through July 8. Travel experts project nationwide travel volumes to rise 5% from the same period last year. LAX estimates over 2 million passengers will pass through its terminals from Thursday, June 27 to Monday, July 8. This sustained higher volume of passenger activity is expected to continue through Labor Day weekend.

LAWA'S CONTRACTING MODEL SETS INCLUSIVITY RECORDS
Los Angeles) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)’s latest Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC), representing nearly $1 billion in contracting value, received approval from Los Angeles City Council on April 26, 2024. The Council’s endorsement follows earlier consent from the City of Los Angeles’s Travel, Trade and Tourism Committee and LAWA’s Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC). LAWA Celebrates Topping Out of LAX’s Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC) South

(Los Angeles) Approximately seven months after its groundbreaking, Los Angeles International Airports (LAX)’s Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC) South celebrated its Topping Out, a milestone that marks the placement of the project’s final structural beam. The ceremony was attended by Councilwoman Traci Park of Council District 11, members of the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) executives and staff and members of the design and construction team. MSC South is an extension of the West Gates at Tom Bradley International Terminal and will add approximately 150,000 square feet and eight gates for narrowbody aircraft.
