OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OF WORLD WAY AT TERMINAL 2 IN EFFECT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE SEPT. 21-25 & 28-29
Work to install a pedestrian bridge over World Way at Terminal 2
will take place Sept. 21-25 & 28-29.

From Tuesday, Sept. 21 to Saturday, Sept. 25 and Tuesday, Sept. 28 to Wednesday, Sept. 29, both the Upper/Departures and Lower/Arrivals levels of World Way will be closed at Terminal 2 for varying times between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. These closures will be in place to facilitate construction of the pedestrian bridge connecting the future Center Central Terminal Area Automated People Mover station to the Terminal 2.5 vertical core. During the full closures, vehicles will utilize established detours to route around the closures, access the terminals and exit the Airport via World Way South. See below for date-specific impacts.
Upper/Departure Level closures (map 1) will take place between midnight and 7 a.m. Traffic to Terminals 7 and 8 will follow the southbound East Way detour. In order to access the Tom Bradley International Terminal and Terminals 4, 5 and 6, motorists will use the established detour that begins at Terminal 2. On Tuesday, Sept. 21 and Wednesday, Sept. 22, traffic on the Upper/Departures Level roadway will be stopped for 30 minutes to install a section of the bridge over the roadway. Vehicles may use the Lower/Arrivals level inner lane to bypass the closure. Please watch for posted signage, prepare to follow all detour routes during the Departure Level closure and use caution when traveling through the area.
Lower/Arrivals Level (map 2) closures will occur from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Traffic will follow detour signage to route along World Way North’s innermost lane around the closure to access the terminals.

10 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Lower World Way full closure (all traffic pushed to single inner lane)
Midnight to 4 a.m.: Upper World Way full closure with detour
Thursday, Sept. 23 to Friday, Sept. 24
10 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Lower World Way full closure (all traffic pushed to single inner lane)
Midnight to 4 a.m.: Upper World Way full closure with detour
Friday, Sept. 24 to Saturday, Sept. 25
11 p.m. to 5 a.m.: Lower World Way full closure (all traffic pushed to single inner lane)
Midnight to 4 a.m.: Upper World Way full closure with detour
Tuesday, Sept. 28 to Wednesday, Sept. 29
11 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Lower World Way full closure (all traffic pushed to single inner lane)
Midnight to 4 a.m.: Upper World Way full closure with detour
