LAX Ops Advisory - Vehicle Service Road E Permanent Closure

Advisory: 2024-03

January 19, 2024

Permanent Closure of Vehicle Service Road "E"

Between Vehicle Service Road "K" and Vehicle Service Road "P" January 19, 2024

Project Overview:

Vehicle Service Road E (VSR "E") between VSR "K" and VSR "P" was permanently closed on Friday January 19, 2024. All service road traffic is now detoured south to VSR "D" between VSR "K" and VSR "P".  The permanent closure of VSR "E" between VSR "K" and VSR "P" is required to complete additional Taxiway D construction

In February 2024, VSR "D" will open between VSR "AA" and VSR "P", ending the need to detour traffic to the south AOA.

Operational Impacts:
  • VSR "E" was permanently closed between VSR "K" and VSR "P" on Janaury 19, 2024.
  • VSR "D" will be the only vehicle service road on the north side of the airfield between VSR "K" and VSR "P".
  • All vehicles attempting to access points west of Taxiway P will be detoured south to VSR "C" via VSRs "P" and "K".
  • VSR "D" between VSR "AA" and Taxilane D14 will remain open to traffic accessing the Taxilane D14/FedEx Apron.
Vehicle Service Road Driver Safety Items:
  • Drivers must be vigilant and exercise caution in the vicinity at the Triple Taxiway Crossing on VSR ā€œDā€ between Taxiways P, N, and M
  • Drivers should also be aware of the potential for increased transit times due to the VSR "E" closure and traffic detours.
  • Drivers need to reduce speed and use caution at the service road detour segments.
