Please disregard the previous version of Advisory 2024-05 and use this Revision 1 version that removes the previously outlined Taxiway E and Taxiway R ADG V and smaller restrictions. That restriction has been cancelled.
 
 
Project Overview:

 

Runway 6R-24L will be closed for 132 consecutive calendar days (estimated) beginning March 06, 2024 (0030L/0830Z) through July 18, 2024, for Phase 4 of the North Airfield Exit Taxiways (NAET) Project.TheNAET Project will construct four new exit taxiways south of Runway 6L-24R that will connect to Taxiways D and E by the end of the project.

 

Taxiways R, AA, and BB will remain available for aircraft access to and from Runway 6L-24R during this Phase 4 construction, with the exception of occasional nightly closures that are required at the beginning and end of this phase to enable the long term closure and eventual reopening of Runway 6R-24L.

Runway & Taxiway Closures Planned. Note that the below dates are estimated; please check NOTAMs for the most current information:

 

  • Runway 6R-24L closed 3/06/2024 through 7/18/2024.
  • Expect nightly Runway 6L-24R closures 3/06/2024 through 3/10/2024 (0030-0630L). Runways 7R-25L and 7L-25R will remain open for all arrivals and departures these five nights when both Runways 6R-24L and 6L-24R are closed for the nightly work to enable the long term closure of Runway 6R-24L.
  • TaxiwayT between Runway 6L-24R and Taxiway E closed 3/06/2024 through 5/06/2024.
  • Taxiway E between Taxiways D7 and E6 closed 3/06/2024 through 7/18/2024.
  • Taxiways E6, E7, E8, E10, Y, E13, CC and DD between Runway 6R-24L and Taxiway E closed 3/06/2024 through 7/18/2024.
 
Permanent Taxiway Closures:
 
  • Taxiway Y between Runway 6L-24R and Runway 6R-24L was closed permanently effective 2/20/2024.
  • Taxiway Y south of Runway 6R-24L remains available, but the name will change to Taxiway L effective 3/21/2024.
  • Taxiway Z between Runway 6L-24R and Taxiway E was closed permanently effective 2/20/2024.
 

Operational Impacts 3/06/2024 Through 7/18/2024:

 

  • A388 departures will need to plan to use Runway 7R-25L due to the Runway 6R-24L long term closure.
  • B747-8 departures from Runway 25R at intersection TaxiwayF may be required when Runway 25L is closed at night (0030-0630 Pacific Time) for maintenance activities and LAX is in the Over Ocean Operations configuration.
  • The Phase 4 Runway 6R-24L long term 132-day continuous closure will displace some arrivals and departures to the south complex runways to balance traffic flow and demand.
  • For planning purposes for airlines that operate ADG VI at LAX, Runway 7R-25L will be closed nightly Monday – Friday (0030-0630 Pacific Time) every other week for rubber removal and maintenance activities.LAWA will delay the start of the nightly Runway 7R-25L closures for any delayed A388 airline departures due to the long term Runway 6R-24L closure.
