Taxiway E Extended Daytime Closures for Taxiway T Rehabilitation Project

April 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, 2024

(0030 - 1600L)

Project Overview:

The LAWA Asphalt & Paving Crew will be removing and repaving an asphalt pavement section between Runway 6R-24L and Taxiway E, at the Taxiway T intersection. This work requires Saturday extended closures of Taxiway E (15.5 hours), between Taxiways K and D10. The work has been phased in a manner that the Taxiway E closures occur on Friday nights into Saturday afternoons.

Planned Taxiway E Closure Dates:
  • Saturday 04/06/2024 (0030 - 1600L)
  • Saturday 04/13/2024 (0030 - 1600L)
  • Saturday 04/20/2024 (0030 - 1600L)
  • Saturday 04/27/2024 (0030 - 1600L)
Please note that the dates above may shift based on the weather forecast and conditions.

Operational Impacts:
  • There are no planned closures of Taxiway D during the Taxiway E closure dates.
  • Expect additional traffic on Taxiway D as aircraft are routed around the Taxiway E closure.
  • During the busier periods of the day, please anticipate minor delays with aircraft push-back onto Taxiway D.
  • Please anticipate longer than the the normal push-back and the potential for FAA Air Traffic Control Tower to instruct crews to push back into Taxilanes D7, D8, D9 and D10, as needed to keep Taxiway D available for aircraft to transition.
Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) have been issued for the scheduled closures. Please plan flight operations accordingly and check current NOTAMs at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch for current airfield operating conditions.
